The Role

As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an engaging, inclusive and positive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to achieve their potential. Your duties may include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum
  • Teaching across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on your experience
  • Adapting and differentiating lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Assessing, monitoring and supporting pupil progress
  • Maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
  • Following existing lesson plans and classroom routines when providing short-term cover
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and other school staff
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Upholding school safeguarding procedures at all times

 

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • At least 6 months’ UK classroom teaching experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
  • Confidence teaching within EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to differentiate teaching for a range of abilities and additional needs
  • Positive, adaptable and professional approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to provide references covering your most recent 24 months
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or willingness to have one processed

  • Based in Burton-on-Trent and surrounding areas
  • Daily rate: £140.00 – £253.00
  • Flexible start from October 2026
